2. What size's do you provide?

Portable buildings come in a variety of sizes a guidline for which is as follows:

  • The smallest portable cabins are normally 1.8m x 1.2m an example of the application for a unit this small is a single toilet unit with a wash hand basin.
  • The width of portable cabins increases in proportion to the length for example units 3.6m-8.5m in length are generally 2.7m wide, units 9.6m in length are generally 3m wide, units 12.2m in length are generally 3.6m wide.
  • The largest single portable cabin we supply is 18m x 4.2m.
  • Modular buildings are generally made up of modules ranging from 7.2m - 12m in length, the width of modules is normally 3m so buildings increase in size by 3m increments.  A typical size of a 10 bay modular building would be 9.6m x 30m.

8. Do you do delivery?

Yes.

We have extremely good relations with a number of hauliers and as such benefit from the best rates available.

As we have cabins going up and down the country all the time, we can also deliver cabins on back/part loads which means we can cut the cost even further.

9. How much is delivery?

This varies greatly and depends on the following -

A) Size of the portable building

B) Location of site and location of cabin at present

C) How soon you need the cabin

If you are flexible with regards to a delivery date, we can normally offer delivery slightly cheaper on a back/part load.

Obviously, the closer your site is to the cabins current location, the cheaper the price and this is why we have a number of yards placed strategically around the UK.

10. What do you mean by 'as is' and refurbished and why do the prices differ?

'As is' means our price for the cabin as it stands at present. This may be just off a site or may have already been cleaned and refurbished. We will always be as honest and straight forward as possible with our descriptions of cabins.

Refurbished is our price for the cabin, fully refurbished to the highest possible standard. When we refurbish a building, we will aim  to ensure it is as close to an 'as new' condition as possible.

Refurbishment usually consists of repaint inside and out, full electrical tests, throrough cleaning, check plumbing, etc. This can differ from cabin to cabin so please ask should you have any queries.

Note: Please be aware that we only stock wind & watertight cabins and our prices reflect a cabins condition.

11. Why are the cabins located in different places?

At Britcab, whilst our main yard is at Billingham (Teesside), we also have yards in Yorkshire and Essex.

We stock cabins in different locations in order to keep costs at a minimum and, in turn, pass on these savings to you, the customer.

By offering cabins in different locations, we are also able to service more customers on a nationwide basis.
